Country of the Year 2013 - 4/7



Miss Grand International joins the 'Big 7' group of pageants, replacing Miss TQI, and this is how the Country of the Year 2013 ranking looks like after the conlusion of this brand new pageant.

  • Philippines is doing great again, placeing as 3rd runner-up, which means they remain on the very top with 900 points, 350 more than 2nd place, and an impressive performance so far which includes 2 crowns and 2 3rd runner-up spots.
  • There's a tie in the 2nd place, which now belongs to Venezuela, and Spain.
  • Puerto Rico, winner of Miss Grand International 2013, is now on the 14th place (goes up 4 places).
  • Dominican Republic, the 1st runner-up, is now the 6th best country (goes up 6 places).
  • Cuba and Sri Lanka enter the top on the 35th place, and Colombia, Macedonia, Pakistan & Zimbabwe make it to the 37th place.


There's only 3 'Big 7' pageants left this year, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Intercontinental, which will determine who will win the Country of the Year 2013 award.

Miss Grand International 2013 winner is PUERTO RICO!



Janelee Chaparro, from Puerto Rico, is the winner of the 1st ever Miss Grand International pageant, held in Thailand on November 19th, 2013.





The 1st runner-up is Miss Dominican Republic, Chantel Martínez.



Top 5: Puerto Rico, Dominican Rep, Australia, Slovak Rep & Philippines.

The 2nd runner-up was Miss Slovak Republic, Denisa Paseciakova. The 3rd runner-up was Miss Philippines, Ali Forbes, and the 4th runner up was Miss Australia, Kelly Louise Maguire.

Country of the Year 2013 - 3/7



This is how the ranking looks like after the conclusion of Miss Universe 2013.

Philippines is still in the lead, by placing as 3rd runner-up in Miss Universe 2013.
Spain goes up to the 2nd place after their 1st runner-up result.
Venezuela completes the top 3 after winning Miss Universe 2013.
Ecuador enters the ranking in the 6th place, thanks to their 2nd runner-up result in Miss Universe.

Countries that have placed in all 'Big 7' pageants of the 2013 so far (Miss Universe, Miss World & Miss Supranational) are:

Philippines (1st place), Brazil (4th place), Indonesia (8th place), India & Ukraine (10 place for both).

Miss Universe 2013 is VENEZUELA!



María Gabriela Isler, 25, from Maracay, Venezuela, is the winner of the Miss Universe 2013 pageant, held in Moscow, Russia, on November 9th. This is the 7th ever crown for her country, which means they are only 1 crown behind the leader, USA, with 8 Miss Universe's crowns.


1st runner-up was Miss Spain, Patricia Yurena Rodríguez. She was actually Miss Venezuela's roomate during the pageant.


The top 2 were holding hands and they didn't realize who was the winner until Miss Venezuela got the crown on her head! It was a really unique crowning moment, yet confusing, but in the end both of them were really happy for each other.


2nd runner-up was Miss Ecuador, Constanza Baez, which is the highest placement for her country ever.
3rd runner-up was Miss Philippines, Ariella Arida, making the 4th consecutive top 5 placement for her country. She got her spot by being the most voted by the fans in the official online voting.
4th runner-up was Miss Brazil, Jakelyne Oliveira, making the 3rd consecutive top 5 placement for her country.
