Miss Universe 2012 is Miss USA



Olivia Culpo, Miss USA, is the new Miss Universe 2012, after being crowned in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, making this the 8th time (a new record) her country wins the most prestigious crown in beauty pageants.


Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon, was the 1st runner-up, followed by Miss Venezuela, Irene Esser as the 2nd runner-up. 3rd runner-up was Miss Australia, Renae Ayris, continuing the longest streak in active, 5 consecutive placements, for her country, and 4th runner-up Miss Brazil, Gabriela Markus.

Country of the Year 2012 - 5/7



Some important facts about the last changes in the ranking after Miss Earth 2012:

  • China is still leding the ranking, Wales is also keeping the 2nd place but reducing a lot its margin.
  • Brazil takes over the 3rd place, after being 3rd runner-up in Miss Earth. Philippines also moves up to the 4th place, after being 1st runner up in Miss Earth. Australia, unplaced, lose 2 places, but keeps the last top 5 position.
  • Venezuela is in 6th place, after being 2nd runner-up in Miss Earth, entering the top 10 for the 1st time this year, and also Czech Republic enters the top 10, by winning the Miss Earth pageant. This country has experienced the biggest climb of this last update: from 26th place top 7th!



Miss Earth 2012 is Czech Republic!








Tereza Fajksova, from the Czech Republic, is the new Miss Earth 2012. 


Her runners-up are the delegates from the Philippines, as first runner-up, Venezuela came in 3rd place and Brazil ended up in 4th.

Country of the Year 2012 - 4/7



After the conclusion of Miss Intercontinental, here are the most important changes in the 'Country of the Year 2012' ranking:

  • Venezuela, winner of Miss Intercontinental 2012, reaches the 11th place, up 14 places.
  • Puerto Rico, 1st runner-up, is now in the 23rd place, while England, 2nd runner-up, enters the top 10.
  • The top 5 stills the same, with China leading, followed by Wales, Australia, India and Brazil.





Miss Intercontinental 2012 - Venezuela wins!



Miss Venezuela, Daniela Chalbaud, is the new Miss Intercontinental 2012, which took place in Aachen, Germany.


The 1st runner-up was Miss Puerto Rico, making this year's 4th consecutive placement, Génesis Marie Dávila, 2nd runner-up Miss England, Laura Ashfield, 3rd runner-up Miss South Africa, Roxanne Amy Zeller, and 4th runner-up Miss Thailand, Natthida Pekkhad.

Haiti wins Reina HispanoAmericana 2012



Former Miss Universe Haiti 2010, Sarodj Bertin, has won the 2012 edition of Reina HispanoAmericana.


Reina (Haiti) and Virreina (1st RU) (Spain).

The 1st runner-up, or Virreina, is Miss Spain, Juliana Sampaio, making this year's placement as the highest ever for her country.

Country of the Year 2012 - 3/7



After the conclusion of the 3rd 'Big 7' pageant of the year, Miss International 2012, here are some of the most important changes in the ranking:

  • The top 3 reamins in the same order and the same countries as the eventual Miss World 2012 results, with China leading, followed by Wales and Australia.
  • Rounding out the top 5 of the ranking, we find Brazil and India, both top 7 placers in Miss World 2012, and top 15 semifinalists in Miss International 2012.
  • Japan, Miss International 2012 winner, enters the top in place number 6. Runner-up Finland enters in 10th, and 2nd runner-up, Sri Lanka, joins the list in 13th position.
  • The Philippines is the only country that has qualified in every of the 3 'Big 7' pageants so far of 2012. Currently, the country is in 9th place.


Next Country of the Year stop will come after the conclusion of Miss Intercontinental, in November 23rd, and Miss Earth, in November 24th.



Miss International 2012 - Japan wins at home!



Ikumi Yoshimatsu, from Japan, is the new Miss International 2012, after being crowned in Okinawa, Japan, making history as the 1st ever Miss International winner from Japan.




Paraguay (4th RU), Sri Lanka (2nd RU), Japan (Winner), Finland (1st RU), Dominican Rep. (3rd RU).


1st runner-up was Miss Finland, Viivi Suominen, 2nd runner-up Miss Sri Lanka,
Madusha Rushani Mayadunne, 3rd runner-up Miss Dominican Republic, Melody Mir, and rounding out the top 5 was Miss Paraguay, Nicole Huber, as the 4th runner-up.

Country of the Year 2012 - 2/7




After the 2nd 'Big 7' pageant of the 2012, some changes has appeared in the Country of the Year 2012 ranking, here are some of those important facts:
  • The top position is still owned by China, follow by Wales and Australia, just before the Miss Supranational finals.
  • Belarus, winner of Miss Supranational make it in to the ranking, placing at #11. Its runner-up of the pageant, Thailand, Czech Republic and Ecuador anter the list at #17, #18 and #19.
  • So far, only 3 countries has qualifyed in both 2012 'Big 7' pagants to date, which are: Philippines, England, and Spain. All them into the top 10.
  • Last year's winner, Venezuela, is still to appear on this ranking, as the country has not qualifyed in any of the pageants so far.

Miss Supranational 2012 - Belarus wins!

Miss Belarus, Ekaterina Buraya, is the new Miss Supranational 2012. The country had previosly been 1st runner up in 2009 and 2011. Runners-up were Miss Thailand, Nanthawan Wannachutha, Miss Czech Republic, Michaela Dihlová, Miss Philippines, Elaine Kay Moll, and Miss Ecuador, Sulay Castillo.

The eventual 4th runner-up, Ecuador, was our 6th placer pick.
All 5 eventual top 5 placers made it in, at least, to our top 20 picks. Philippines was #15 (#13 after replacements), and Czech Republic was #20 after replacements.
